Established in 1993, the softball team participates in the Hamilton Mixed Three-Pitch Softball League on Thursday night's during the summer. The team has won the league championship and consolation finals numerous times in it's history, but the main goal is to get out once a week and have fun, and to consume an endless amount of beer.

The idea of merging softball with Croatia Hamilton came about in 2006.

Throughout the years, the HammerHeads have undergone a few name changes. Originally formed with the moniker “Checkers Sports Bar and Café”, the team has also been known as “Bistro Carolo”, “Lotos Restaurant” and “Western Inventory”.
