Potential Merger of the
Croatian National Sports Club of Hamilton Inc.
and the Hamilton Croatian Centre Inc.

Dear Valued Club Members,

It has been a few months since our Annual General Meeting at which the Executive Committee asked the membership for permission to engage in negotiation talks with the Hamilton Croatian Centre, Inc. located on 166 Green Mountain Road.

At this time, we are pleased to announce that a tentative agreement has been reached with the Hamilton Croatian Centre to merge as one organization. The Executive Committee would like to invite all the members from the Croatian National Sports Club of Hamilton to a very important and potentially historic meeting at the Club on 200 Kenilworth Ave. North on Sunday, July 27 at 2 p.m.

At the meeting, we will disclose a complete set of plans and a budget, along with many other crucial pieces of information. There will be an open question period, as we want to answer all of your questions and alleviate any of your concerns.

We would like all members to attend and voice their opinions on the future of the Croatian National Sports Club of Hamilton. Now is the time to consider what we possess and how we can improve our Club for the future.

At the meeting, you will be asked to cast a vote that will affect the future of this Sports Club and the Croatian Community in Hamilton as a whole. We look forward to seeing you all there.

On behalf of the Executive Committee,

Mark Vuksan
President
Hamilton Croatia Sports Club

CNSF Youth Tournament - Hamilton 2008 Recap

On Saturday July 5th, Hamilton Croatia hosted the 2008 Croatian National Soccer Federation Junior Tournament. The tournament was held at the Croatian Cultural Centre in Norval Ontario and featured 34 youth teams from seven different clubs. Over 500 kids from as far as Sudbury and Milwaukee came to compete on a beautiful hot and sunny afternoon.

At the end, 58 games of soccer were played to determine the 9 champions. All the kids however were awarded with trophies and medals in what was truly a celebration of Croatian youth soccer in North America. Hamilton Croatia would like to thank all the teams that came out and we hope that this tournament will continue to grow and flourish in the coming years.

There were seven boys groups, and two girls, while participating clubs included Norval, Mississauga, Croatia Cleveland, Adria Sudbury, Hamilton and Milwaukee. Cleveland won five of the age groups, Mississauga won three and Hamilton one. The Champions in each division were:

Cleveland U8 Boys
Cleveland U8 Girls
Cleveland U9 Boys
Mississauga U10 Boys
Cleveland U11 Boys
Hamilton U12 Girls
Mississauga U12 Boys
Mississauga U15 Boys
Cleveland U18 Boys

We will add pictures as they come in - check them out in the gallery.
