'A' Team Passes Preliminary Test
PERNS - One of the 'A' Team's off-season signings made his presence felt with a stunning debut. Jure Pavic scored both goals yesterday in a 2-1 road win against Niagara Falls Juventus in the Ontario Cup Preliminary Round.
The early story was the 'A' Team being cut to ten-men after a player received his second yellow caution of the game. But with the score tied at 1-1 in the second half, Pavic took a feed from Adam Petrina and found the back of the net for the winner. Another newcomer, Erind Hametaj, also put in a strong perfromance, while goaltender Ante Brala got the win between the pipes for Croatia.
